Chitwan tiger mauls woman to death

A tiger from the Chitwan National Park (CNP) mauled a woman to death at Samyukta Raptidoon Community Forest on Monday. Police said Shushila Dumre, 25, of Bharatpur Metropolitan City-25 was attacked by the tiger while she was in the park’s buffer zone forest collecting grass. When a team from the park reached the incident site, they discovered the maneater next to Dumre’s mutilated body. The team captured the beast and collected the victim’s body. Nurendra Aryal, the CNP information officer, said the tiger was taken to Kasara. According to the park’s record, eight persons were killed in wildlife attacks in Chitwan last fiscal year. One of the deaths was related to tiger attack. (PR)
