The motorcycle-borne men intercepted Rajaram Sah, a money transfer operator, at Tingachhiya area along the Mirchaiya-Kalyanpur road and robbed him at gun point, said DSP Dipendra Sah.
Earlier on June 25, Dhan Bir Yadav, a money transfer worker, was robbed of Rs 1.2 million by four motorcycle-borne men at the same place in a similar fashion. Police are yet to arrest the robbers.
The business community of Kalyanpur has criticised police administration for failing to curb the incidents of theft and robbery in the area.
“More than a month has passed since Dhan Bir Yadav was robbed and police are yet to arrest the robbers. Now we have another robbery of similar nature before us,” said Sunil Kumar Rawat, a member of the Mirchiya Chamber of Commerce.
