Ghimire named for CIAA top post

The Constitutional Council on Wednesday recommended Navin Kumar Ghimire as the new chief commissioner of the Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA). The council meeting held at the Prime Minister’s Office in Singha Durbar picked Ghimire to lead the anti-graft body. Ghimire, currently serving as acting chief of the CIAA, will face parliamentary hearing before President Bidya Devi Bhandari appoints him. He was appointed as CIAA commissioner on April 2, 2015, after his retirement as Home Secretary. (PR)
