Typhoid patients on the rise
Sep 11, 2018-
The number of patients suffering from a high fever, muscle cramps and joint pains have been on the rise since the start of this fiscal year, according to Bhusan Mishra, medical superintendent of the district hospital.
The Health officials said residents of several municipalities in the Doti district suffer from typhoid and a viral fever due to the consumption of contaminated water and poor hygiene.
“We receive 20 to 25 patients of typhoid on a daily basis,” said Dipak Ojha, in charge of the Mauwanagardaha health post.
According to the government data, around 16 percent of people in Doti are still compelled to consume contaminated water from rivers, streams and wells. Health workers claimed that they have been distributing medicines in the affected areas. (PR)
