Volunteers removed 31 metric tonnes of garbage from rivers and Ring Road in the Kathmandu Valley as part of the clean-up drive on World Cleanup Day.
More than 700 campaigners from 26 organisations including High Powered Bagmati Civilization Integrated Development Committee, Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC), the Nepal Army, Nepal Police, the Armed Police Force, Tilaganga Women Group among others, participated in the cleaning.
Volunteers cleared Bagmati River, near Minbhawan area, as part of the 279th week of the Bagmati Cleaning Mega Campaign. The groups carried out cleaning work at all local levels of the city as per the KMC’s mandate. (RSS)
