Phidim

Sep 30, 2018-

The number of schools running mother tongue classes in Paanchthar district has come to a decline due to a lack of awareness in the community and a shortage of language teachers and textbooks.  As many as 131 schools in the district used to run classes in the Limbu language, and four in the Rai Bantawa language. Now, the number has declined to 114 and two respectively. Currently, two schools in the district offer courses in the Tamang language and one in the Bhotia language. (RSS)
