Federalism floundering: Leader Mahat

Nepali Congress leader and former Finance Minister Ram Sharan Mahat has said the federal system is getting costly, and therefore burdening the country’s economy. Various taxes that are being raised to manage federalism in the country is worrying, he said. The administrative structure of all three tiers of government is contradictory to the weak economy of the country, therefore, the federal system is financially costly, he asserted. The former finance minister underscored the need to curb the misuse of nation’s treasury by spending in unproductive sector. (RSS)
