The Ministry of Health and Population has prepared a new structure at local, provincial and federal levels to set up public health offices in all 77 districts of the country.

The ministry is currently preparing to appoint the required human resources for the proposed public health offices.

According to Dr Sushilnath Pyakurel of the ministry, the government had come up with the plan in order to ensure health care services to all people across the country.

Furthermore, he added, the government is also planning to set up Health Promotion and Training Centre, Health Materials and Drug Management Centre and Public Health Laboratory in all districts.

Minister for Health and Population Upendra Yadav had formed a committee, led by Dr Pyakurel, to make recommendations on hiring staff for the proposed public health offices, support centres and laboratories.

Dr Pyakurel said the committee has prepared a draft of its recommendation report.
