Team formed to complete provincial committees of ruling party

A secretariat meeting of the party on September 21 announced the leadership of the provincial committees, nominating those in charge, their deputies, chairperson and secretary for all the seven provinces.
The panel of Home Minister Ram Bahadur Thapa and General Secretary Bishnu Poudel is tasked with choosing other leaders for the provincial committees.The panel will present its report to the Standing Committee meeting scheduled for October 29-30, said Poudel.
During a meeting held at the prime minister’s residence in Baluwatar, Deputy PM and Defence Minister Ishwar Pokhrel and Spokesperson Narayan Kaji Shrestha were absent as they are both in China.Senior leader Madhav Kumar Nepal on September 28 formally protested the secretariat’s decision to pick leaders for the provincial committees while he was on a visit abroad.
The September 21 meeting of the NCP Secretariat had announced the provincial leaders while Nepal and Shrestha were out of the country.The unified communist party has failed to assign responsibilities for its new central committee members.
