The concert will be a part of three day long Rabong Tourism Festival, which will begin on October 28. The Taal Ko Paani hitmaker will perform as the closing act of the festival on October 30.
Nepathya will perform for the second time in Sikkim since their first concert in 2012, where they had performed a successful show at the St Xavier’s School ground in Pakyong.
“We consider invitation from these areas as an opportunity for cross border connectivity between people of Nepalis origin and culture,” said Nepathya frontman Amrit Gurung. “We take this as an honour to promote Nepali brotherhood.”
According to local organisers, preparation for the festival is in full swing and technical arrangement for the show has been finalised.
“Nepathya’s music has echoed around the hills of Sikkim for long. They are popular among all generations here,” said Jigme Wangchuk Bhutia, chairman of the Rabong Tourism Festival. “A band we have been hearing on radio and watching on TV is finally coming here. We are excited to witness Nepathya live in Rabong.”
