Committee submits report on Maleth incident
A committee formed to investigate into the killing of five persons in Maleth shooting incident in Saptari district submitted its report to the provincial government on Thursday.
The Province 2 government had formed the committee under Minister Yadav after the Madhesi community expressed reservations over the report prepared by the National Human Rights Commission.
Five persons had died and few others were injured when police opened fire at protesters during a programme organised by the erstwhile CPN-UML in Maleth, Saptari, on March 6, 2017.
A source said that the report submitted by the committee has recommended legal action against the then chief district officer, chief of Nepal Police and chief of Armed Police Force.
