Kalinchok Darshan Pvt Ltd currently operates four cars and each can carry 10 persons. Ticket price of Rs 500 is being reconsidered says operator

Nov 4, 2018-The country’s third cable car service on Saturday started its operations in Kalinchok, a revered pilgrimage place and tourist destination in Dolakha district.

Following the series of test rides, Kalinchok Darshan (Pvt) Ltd commercially operated its services from Saturday. The one-km long cable car service links Kalinchok Bhagawati Temple, that lies at an altitude of 3,842 metres above sea level, to Kuri Bazaar.

Kalinchok Darshan Chairman Balkrishna Shiwakoti said the cable car service would be formally inaugurated anytime soon.

There are four cable cars with the capacity of carrying 10 persons each. A ticket for the service costs Rs 500. The service provider, however, said that they are reconsidering about the ticket price.

According to Kalinchok Darshan, the cable car has been constructed with Swill technology and it is different from two other services of this kind in Manakamana and Chandragiri. The project was constructed with the cost of Rs 450 million.

Kuri Bazaar, where lower station of the cable car is situated, is about 17 km north from Charikot, the district headquarters of Dolakha. The cable car service will spur tourism in Kalinchok area and in district.
