Flights to and from Ranjha Airport, Nepalgunj were disrupted on Thursday morning due to poor visibility. “All the morning flights to and from Nepalgunj could not take place due to heavy fog in the region,” said Rabina Pandey, Chief of Field Office of Department of Hydrology and Meteorology. The visibility in Banke district remained only up to 50 metres on Thursday morning, Pandey said. Small aircraft require visibility anywhere between 1,600 and 2,000 metres for operation, more than 2,000 metres for the larger planes. Despite progress in weather, the sky is not entirely clear as yet, Pandey said, adding that such a situation is likely to continue for some more days. Flights are operated from Ranjha Airport to Dolpa, Humla, Mugu and Kathmandu in the morning. (RSS)
