Police record nine rapeS in four months in Bouddha

Nine rape incidents were recorded by the Kathmandu Metropolitan Police Circle, Bouddha, in the last four months.
Deputy Superintendent of Police Narendra Chand said the police circle pressed charges against 15 people in nine incidents of rape that were reported between mid-July to mid-November this year.
Most of the victims, according to DSP Chand, were minor girls.
The latest rape incident was registered on November 7, where a 12-year-old girl was raped at Mulpani Cricket Ground by eight men.
Police have arrested Bikhasu Tharu, 28, Naresh Kushma, 21, Rajkumar Tharu, 22, Rabin Itani, 21, Rajesh Tharu, 16, Hari Kumal, 19, and Dilliram Tharu, 34, in connection to the incident. The eighth suspect is at large.
In a separate incident, police arrested 40-year-old Rakesh Shrestha for raping two minor girls, aged eight and nine, at Gokarneshwor Municipality-6 on July 26.
Bouddha police circle also arrested Hari Timilsina, 49, and Dal Bahadur Shahi,
47, in separate rape cases involving a 15-year-old girl and a 67-year-old woman in Shankaharapur Municipality.
Dawa Tamang, 24, of Solukhumbu, Rajan Mandal, 22, of Morang, Madan Pariyar, 39, of Jhapa and Kabi Shrestha, 31, of Dolakha are also being investigated in separate rape cases, DSP Chand said.
