Bhandari to address UN climate conference

President Bidya Devi Bhandari will address the United Nations’ 24th Convention on Climate Change in Poland.

A Cabinet meeting on Monday endorsed President Bhandari’s visit to Poland for the event. The convention will be held in the Polish city of Katowice on December 4 and 5. She will be accompanied by Minister for Forest and Environment Shakti Basnet and some lawmakers.

The Cabinet has also decided to allow Minister for Youth and Sports Jagat Bahadur Sunar Biswokarma to receive Dr Ambedkar International Award 2018 in India.

According to Minister for Information and Communication Gokul Prasad Baskota, the government has decided to extend the term of the lawmaker Som Prasad Pande-led High-Level Political Talks Team till Dec 11 to prepare and submit its report.

The Cabinet decided to allow the two-day Nepal-India Bilateral Consultative

Group on Security Issues (BCGSI) on December 13-14 in Kathmandu.

Minister Baskota has also revealed that the government spent Rs6.7 million on the

publicity of the contribution-based Social Security Plan.
