Solinas quits as Kaizer Chiefs

Dec 9, 2018-

Italian coach Giovanni Solinas quit high-profile South African club Kaizer Chiefs Friday halfway through his first season in charge after failing to transform the struggling side. Chiefs, who have won 53 domestic trophies since being formed in 1970, have gone three and a half seasons without adding to their silverware. A Chiefs statement said there had been an “amicable termination of the contract with immediate effect”, which is South African-speak for leave or be fired. Chiefs reached the second qualifying round of the CAF Confederation Cup this week. (AFP)
