State 7 local units in pact to promote renewable energy
The parties have agreed to work together for promoting entrepreneurship, improving the energy situations and creating micro-infrastructure in the province
Dec 12, 2018-The Ministry of Physical Infrastructure Development, the Alternative Energy Promotion Centre (AEPC) and six partner municipalities of Sudurpaschim Province have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to enter into a long-term partnership that will contribute in improving the living conditions, livelihood in the partnering municipalities.
The signing ceremony was held in the presence of Pathan Singh Bohora, minister of physical infrastructure development of Sudurpaschim Province. The signing parties have agreed to work together for improving the energy situations, promoting entrepreneurship, creating micro-infrastructure and forming a social and financial capital to reduce poverty in the municipalities.
The partner municipalities include Suklaphata Municipality, Chure Rural Municipality, Baddikedar Rural Municipality, Dagodakedar Rural Municipality, Bithadchir Rural Municipality and Kedarseu Rural Municipality.AEPC, with support of the Renewable Energy for Rural Areas (RERA), will provide technical aid in terms of capacity building and implementation of Renewable Energy Technologies (RETs) activities for promoting rural energy systems at the community level. The support will also facilitate partnerships with private sector, community-based organisations and non-governmental organisations to provide energy at affordable level, to meet the basic quality standards and to maximize the use of energy for income generation.
Through this partnership, the ministry of Physical Infrastructure Development and the partner municipalities aim to provide clean energy to the province’s people.
