Committee to probe Dang crash

The committee, led by Senior Superintendent of Police Nara Bahadur Khatri, will investigate the cause of the accident and submit its findings within a week.
The bus carrying students and teachers of Shahid Krishna Sen Ichchhuk Polytechnic Institute, Ghorahi, had plunged nearly 700 metres down the road at Ramri.
Nineteen students, two teachers, the bus driver and his assistant died in the tragedy. Fourteen students were injured.
They were returning to Ghorahi after a botanical field study trip to Kapurkot, Salyan.
Meanwhile, the Private and Boarding Schools Organisation Nepal and National Private and Boarding Schools Organisation Nepal closed their affiliate schools in Dang on Sunday to mourn the deaths of the students and teachers of Shahid Krishna Sen Ichchhuk Polytechnic Institute in Friday’s bus accident.
Three die in Khotang tractor plunge
KHOTANG: Three persons died and a fourth one was critically injured when in tractor fell 200 metres down the road in Khotang on Sunday.
Police said the tractor (Ko 2 Ta 5660), en route to Nirmali from Diktel, crashed at Diktel Rupakot Majhuwagadhi-9, killing Min Prasad Luitel, Michael Rai and Khem Raj Bhujel. Durga Bahadur Luitel, who suffered serious injuries in the accident, was airlifted to Kathmandu for treatment.
The cause behind the accident is being investigated, police said.
