Local government representatives have suggested the federal government to incorporate the suggestions of concerned stakeholders while formulating new federal laws and amending the existing ones.
Issuing a press release on Friday, the Chairperson of Association of District Coordination Committees of Nepal, the Chairperson of Municipalities Association of Nepal and the Chairperson of National Association of Rural Municipalities of Nepal urged the government to incorporate recommendations from local governments in the law making and amendment process.
“There are several bills that are likely to be registered for deliberation in the winter session of the federal parliament and it came to our knowledge that most of the drafted laws are being prepared by the concerned ministry officials on their own without consulting the stakeholders,” states the press release.
They have also urged the federal government to place emphasis on discussions and dialogue among all three tiers of governments in the course of framing and formulating federal laws.
