Minister for Communications and Information Technology Gokul Prasad Banskota has said the government would bring a framework of digital Nepal within a month.

Opening the 25th annual general meeting of the Federation of Computer Association Nepal (CAN Federation) in the Capital on Saturday, Banskota said a

five-year programme would be formulated based on the framework of digital Nepal to achieve the national goal of prosperity through the maximum utilisation of technology.

He said the risks and aberrations have equally increased with the growing accessibility and effectiveness of technology and that its relevance would only be when we can take benefit through its proper use.

“Not only the access to technology, but what we have achieved through its utilisation is also important,” he said. “However, its misuse and anomalies should be removed.”

Baskota also assured that the Electronic Transaction Act would be made relevant.

On the occasion, FNCCI Vice Chairman Umesh Lal Shrestha and CAN Federation Chairman Hemant Kumar Chaurasiya also expressed their views on the need to promote technology to boost development.
