Yangon receives over 1 million tourists

Myanmar’s former capital city of Yangon received more than 1 million tourists as of November from January this year with Chinese and Thai nationals making up the majority of the travelers, the official Global New Light of Myanmar reported Sunday. According to the Yangon Region’s Directorate of Hotels and Tourism, among the foreign travelers, more than 120,000 came to Myanmar by air, while over 8,000 tourists visited the country aboard cruise ships. Chinese travelers mostly chartered flights to Yangon and Mandalay.
