- Rastriya Samachar Samiti, Kathmandu

Jan 9, 2019-

The government has once again announced to launch Literate Nepal campaign for 2076 BS after its previous iterations failed to deliver.

The campaign was launched in 2072 BS with the target of making Nepal fully literate in two years. It’s been little over than three years since the campaign’s launch, and the country has still not achieved the fully literate status.

Once again, the campaign has set the goal of making Nepal a fully literate country within 2076 BS by providing opportunity of minimum literacy to all citizens above

15 years of age. The decision to this end was taken by the Cabinet meeting on December 31, 2018. Out of 77 districts in the country, the government has said that 47 districts have so far been declared fully literate.
