Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Rabindra Adhikari has left for India to participate in the two-day ‘Global Aviation Summit-2019’ that began in Mumbai on Tuesday. According to the minister’s secretariat, Adhikari flew to the southern neighbour on Monday evening. He is accompanied by Joint-secretary Buddhisagar Lamichhane, Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) Director General Sanjiv Gautam and Director Deepak Baral. On the sidelines of the summit, the minister will hold talks on air routes that Nepal is seeking from India. CAAN and the Indian Aviation Authority have signed an agreement on Nepal using three additional air routes via the Nepal-India border.

The Indian side has been reluctant to implement the agreement reached on June 16, 2018. The deal was for the existing two-way Kathmandu-Mahendranagar-Delhi and Kathmandu-Janakpur-Patna routes.
