13 inmates have died in central jail this fiscal

As many as 13 inmates have died in the premises of the central jail just in this fiscal year. Acting Superintendant Dr Bagat Lal Shrestha informed that the 13 inmates died due to different communicable diseases. “The prevalence of various communicable and non-communicable diseases such as common cold, cough, fever and typhoid in the jail are the causes behind the death toll,” he added. Dr Shrestha further shared that other patients who are sick and cannot be treated at the prison hospital have been referred to Bir Hospital, Teaching Hospital, Mental Hospital and Gangalal Hospital.
