Rautahat police rescued a five-year-old Indian boy, who was abducted from his house on Tuesday, from Maulapur Municipality-7, Rautahat, on Friday evening.
Police said Abhijit Giri of Babula Tole in East Champaran, India, was kidnapped while he was playing at his house.
After the boy went missing, his parents had informed a local police station, which in turn had requested the Rautahat police chief SP Kedar Dhakal for help.
Acting on a tip off, Rautahat police rescued the child from a house belonging to Binda Sah of Saraiya Tole in Maulapur-7. Sah was arrested for further investigation. In his statement, Sah told the police that he had found the boy on a river bank.
However, police said they found no abductors in the house.
We handed over the child to his uncle after the rescue on Friday night, said SP Dhakal.
