The three kilometre Palpa-Butwal road section along the Siddhartha Highway is to remain closed for four days beginning from Saturday for a geological survey.

The Chidiya Khola (stream) from Dobhan along the section was partially closed on Saturday.

According to Kedar Nepal, chief of the Road Division Office Palpa, a geological study has been going on in the site for the past two months for the construction of a tunnel. The project is funded by the Swiss Government.

Meanwhile, the Community Radio Rampur, which was shut down following a lightning on Tuesday, has resumed its regular transmission from Saturday. The lightning damaged the transmitter, telephone and other electronic devices, bringing the broadcasting service to a halt from February 5.

The disruption of the radio service deprived Gandakibensi residents of access to information. The Radio Rampur is the first community radio station in the Gandakibensi area.
