Karnali Province saw 453 cases of rights violations last year: INSEC

As many as 453 cases of human rights violations were recorded in Karnali Province in the last one year, according to a report prepared by the Informal Sector Service Centre. The Human Rights Year Book-2019 of INSEC, which was unveiled in Birendrangar on Tuesday, mentions that 343 women and 149 men in the province were victims of various human rights violations that period. Narayan Subedi, Karnali Province coordinator of INSEC, said the incidents of women rights violations topped the list in Karnali this year with 257 recorded cases.  The organisation also recorded 87 cases related to child rights violations and 47 related to assault.
