RCT beat Satdobato Youth Club 2-0 and Shree Bhagawati Club saw off Tushal Youth Club 3-1 to maintain their 100 percent winning record and take the title decider to the final day of the league on Tuesday when the two undefeated sides clash. Both RCT and Shree Bhagawati are locked on six points each and have equal goal difference. Satdobato and Tushal are yet to open their account.
In the opening match of the day, Darshan Gurung struck twice in Shree Bhagawati victory over Tushal. He broke the deadlock in the 41st minute before Kashim Rai equalised for Tushal in the stoppage time. Gurung again restored Shree Bhagawati ‘s lead during the hour mark before Tsering Pasang Sherpa sealed their victory with third goal in the 81st minute.
Sansar Nanda Palanchoke scored twice for RCT in the late fixture of the day that saw them beat Satdobato 2-0. Palanchowke made the breakthrough in the 68th and killed off the match in the 83rd with his second goal. The last day of the super league, featuring four teams, will see RCT in action against Shree Bhagawati in the early kickoff before Satdobato vies against Tushal on Tuesday.
The champions will receive Rs 800,000 while the other three teams in the Super League are also assured of Rs 500,000, Rs 300,000 and Rs 200,000 depending on their standings. The preliminary round of the tournament had 12 teams—six in each of the two pools. Top two teams from each of the two pools in the preliminary round qualified for the Super League.
Nayabasti Youth Club finished bottom of Group ‘A’ and Bansbari ended up at rock bottom in Group ‘B’ of the preliminary round meaning both the teams will be fined Rs 50,000 from their preparation fees in addition to deduction of one point each next season. All Nepal Football Association, the football governing body, had come up with the penalties to compensate the ‘no relegation’ provision this season.
