Bodybuilding meet set for June

Nepal Bodybuilding and Fitness Association (NBFA) is all set to organise 12th South Asian Bodybuilding and Fitness Championship on June 20 and 21 in Kathmandu.
The bodybuilding championship features competition in nine weight categories—55kg, 60kg, 65kg, 70kg, 75kg, 80kg, 85kg, 90kg and above 90kg, said NBFA President Rajesh Babu Shrestha at a press conference on Wednesday. The event will also have men’s physique in 170cm category and above 170cm category. The women’s physique will have 165cm and above 165cm category.
The organisers have expected participation of around 180 bodybuilders from all eight South Asian countries. According to NBFA President Shrestha, the winners of the Mr Himalaya to be held on May 3 and 4 in Kathmandu will be picked from Nepal to compete in the event.
Meanwhile, Datuk Paul Chua, the general secretary of World Bodybuilding and Physique Sports Federation and president of Asian Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation (ABFF) and Chetan Pathare, the general secretary of ABFF, unveiled the banner of the Championship during the press conference.
The expected cost of organising the championship is Rs four million.
