Two Nepali citizens were found dead in separate incidents in two Indian towns bordering Siraha district in the past one month. Police suspect both the victims might have been murdered.

Subhas Yadav, a resident of Dhangadhimai Municipality-6 in Siraha, was found with bullet injuries in Khutauna, India, on February 27— a day after the 17-year-old boy had gone missing from his residence.

Indian security personnel took him to a hospital in Darbhanga, from where he was referred to Patna for treatment. He died in the course of treatment on Thursday.  Indian authority handed over Yadav’s body to Nepal Police.

On February 1, Gajendra Yadav, 35, of Lahan Municipality-24 was found dead in Piparahi Charkhahi, India, with scars and bruises on his body. He had gone missing for days. Gajendra had gone to India to drop his sister off to her house but never returned. His motorcycle and cell phone have not been recovered till date.

Police are still clueless about the perpetrators in both the murder cases. The district police office in Siraha stated that investigations into both the cases are underway with the coordination of Indian police.
