‘Constitution should be occasion for joy, not violence’

A press statement issued by the special envoy today states that India has been strongly supportive of constitution making in Nepal and hopes the Nepali leaders will display necessary flexibility and maturity for it. Jaishankar said that this was the crucial time for the leaders to ensure a durable and resilient constitution that has broad-based acceptance.
Jaishankar met with President Ram Baran Yadav, Prime Minister Sushil Koirala, political leaders of big three political parties and Madhesi leaders during his two-day stay in the Capital. He returned to Indian capital New Delhi this morning.
