The decision follows a joint meeting between the government authorities and fustal entrepreneurs at District Administration Office today.
The Metropolitan Police Range Kathmandu on Thursday imposed a ban on the operation of futsal facilities in Kathmandu citing that they were causing disturbance in society and spoiling youngsters. The decision drew flak from several quarters including sports enthusiasts.
Chief District Officer of Kathmandu, Ram Krishna Subedi, said the ban was lifted after the entrepreneurs assured to stop the illegal and criminal activities in the name of fustal. A joint task force has been formed to resolve the issues seen in futsal.
SSP at Metropolitan Police Range, Kathmandu, Bikram Singh Thapa said the ban was removed following commitment by entrepreneurs that they will operate their businesses in a systematic manner.
While imposing the decision on Thursday, authorities had claimed that futsal centres were opened till late in the night, disturbed neighbourhood and promoted drugs abuse and alcohol consumption among teenagers.
