He defeated Madan Kumari Sah (Garima) of CPN-UML with a comfortable margin of 20,935 votes.
Chaudhary garnered 34, 341 votes against Sah’s 13,406 votes, while former whip of Nepali Congress (NC) Ishwori Neupane settled for the third position with 11,203 votes.
Chaudhary had registered his nomination at the Election Commission (EC) through his representative Indra Chaudhary. Chaudhary is the main accused in the lynching of eight police personnel and an infant in Tikapur incident of August 2015.
He had used the social networking sites as the means of election publicity campaign.
In the wake of queries from different quarters that how he emerged victorious with a huge margin, it has been learnt that all the people of Tharu communities cast their votes for him.
According to local Chhara Darlami, Chaudhary got sympathy votes after Nepal Police put him in its most wanted list for his involvement in Tikapur carnage. He has been living in India.
CPN (Maoist Centre) and former Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal had met Chaudhary in 2016.
During the meeting, Chaudhary had urged Dahal to roll back the complaint filed against him, saying that the Tikapur incident was the result of political agitation.
This is the third time he contested in the elections.
