Noting that the culture of seeking rights without responsibility has created a kind of revolt, Gurung said that the concerned I/NGOs should also teach people how to be civil and responsible.
“I/NGOs should work to meet the government’s objectives rather than working unilaterally based on its own strategy and agenda,” the chief minister said in his inaugural address of civilian assembly and first assembly of Province 4 NGO Federation of Nepal in Pokhara on Sunday.
“Our province has a lot of potentials for development because we have enough resources and means. The I/NGOs should work hand in hand with the government to develop this province,” he said.
Chief Minister Gurung also praised the role of I/NGOs in raising public awareness and urged them to reach out to remote parts of the country.
