Crews remove 51 tonnes of garbage from Bagmati River
More than 500 volunteers from various groups joined the 258th week of Bagmati Clean-Up campaign
Apr 22, 2018-Around 500 volunteers from several entities helped to clear 51 metric tonnes of garbage in the 258th week of Bagmati Clean-Up campaign, an activist said on Saturday.

On its 21st anniversary, the Royal Co-operatives’ representatives helped to clean Bagmati. More than 100 people removed two tonnes of waste from the Sundarijal area of the Bagmati River. The volunteers represented local groups Pudasaini Friendship Society and Ramro Jorpati-Hamro Jorpati.
Elsewhere, more than 200 volunteers removed two tonnes of garbage from the area between Ratopul and Kamalpokhari as part of the 213th week of Rudramati River cleanup campaign.
Volunteers removed around five tonnes of garbage Manamaiju Bridge area as part of the 185th week of Bishnumati clean-up campaign.
Volunteers helped clean other areas in Jadibudi, Bhaktapur, Chakrapath, Syuchatar, and Aloknagar, Kathmandu.
