PUCC nods to party unity based on agreement between Oli, Dahal

The meeting was held at the Prime Minister’s official residence in Baluwatar on Thursday afternoon.
According to the agreement, the two chairmen will jointly lead the unified party until the general convention.
The new party will have a 441-member Central Committee—with 241 members from the UML and 200 from the Maoist Centre.
It will have a 43-member Standing Committee with 25 UML representatives and 18 from the Maoist Centre.
Similarly, UML General Secretary Ishwor Pokharel who is also a member of the PUCC said that the two chairmen will form a nine-member secretariat. PM Oli, Dahal, Madhav Kumar Nepal, Jhala Nath Khanal, Bamdev Gautam, Narayan Kaji Shrestha, Ishwor Pokharel, Ram Bahadur Thapa and Bishnu Poudel are the nine members of the secretariat.

According to him, the PUCC meeting’s decision will be endorsed by separate meetings of the Central Committee of the both the parties.
Following the endorsement by both the CC meetings, the two parties will hold a joint meeting. Top leaders of UML and Maoist Centre will then visit the Election Commission to register the new party.
