No room for complacency with leadership: NC leader Mahat
Nepali Congress (NC) leader and former Finance Minister Ram Sharan Mahat has remarked that there is no room to be complacent with the current party leadership.Nepali Congress (NC) leader and former Finance Minister Ram Sharan Mahat has remarked that there is no room to be complacent with the current party leadership.
Speaking at a press meet organised by Press Union in Manthali of Ramechhap on Saturday, leader Mahat underscored that the party leaders should become united to seek solution to the crisis facing the party instead of wasting time in criticising each other.
He noted that it is the chief responsibility of leadership to return the party to its former state by managing internal dynamics and ending the anomalies. “The current leadership of the party is not personally happy with me,” said leader Mahat, “Nepali Congress had to suffer the electoral defeat due to the weakness of internal management. It is the responsibility of party leadership to bring everyone together.”
The NC leader alleged that Prime Minister KP Oli is trying to head on the path to totalitarian by seeking a two-thirds majority despite having a majority in the parliament. He further accused the government of acting in a biased manner in bureaucracy. He added that the Prime Minister has involved himself in operation by bringing many government offices under him. “Prime minister’s duty is to manage not to operate,” he said.
Former Finance Minister claimed the three level governments have not been able to fulfil the people’s necessities regardless of the empty words by those taking the government reins. He went on to claim that the country could be made prosperous as it is still on the path taken by the Nepali Congress in 1991.
Many districts leaders didn’t show up at the programme attended by Mahat.
