Dr KC has been staging an indefinite hunger strike for the past 20 days at Karnali Academy of Health Sciences seeking reforms in country’s medical education sector including conducting MBBS classes at the academy.
The government had sent a Nepal Army helicopter to Jumla to bring Dr KC and Karnali Province Chief Minister Mahendra Bahadur Shahi and Law Minister Naresh Bhandari had reached KAHS to facilitate the process.
However, students barred the province government officials from seeing Dr KC inside the KAHS premises while Jumla locals led by local women have been staging protest and have blocked the road outside the hospital premises.
Meanwhile, Karnali CM and Law Minister have returned back following intense protest.
A large number of security personnel have been deployed at the hospital premises in fear of clashes.
