26 banda enforces held from across the country

According to Nepal Police headquarters, banda enforcers had terrorised the people by planting fake and real improvised explosive devices (IED) in 17 districts. The banda enforcers had planted fake bombs in eight districts while police defused explosives in nine districts.
According to Nepal Police spokesperson SaileshThapa, four fake bombs and one real bomb was found in various places of Kathmandu. Similarly, two real bombs and six fake bombs and one real bomb were defused in Bhaktapur and Lalitpur respectively.
Deputy Inspector General (DIG) ManojNeupane of Metropolitan Police Range, Kathmandu, said police have arrested seven persons, two of them for possession of bombs, in Kathmandu.
NetraBikram Chand-led Nepal Communist Party has enforced banda today against the recent government crackdown on its cadres.
The banda, however, had a partial effect across the country with essential services functioning normally. The bandapassed off peacefully, without any untoward incidents.
