Gyawali represented the government and the peoplAe of Nepal. He was joined by the South Asian leaders and diplomats who had come to say their final goodbye to the late Indian prime minister.
Nepali Congress Vice-president Bimalendra Nidi also took part in the funeral on behalf of his party.
Vajpayee, who was undergoing treatment at All India Medical Institute (AIMS) in the Indian capital city, died on Thursday. He was 93.
Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli had sent a condolence message to his Indian counterpart, Narendra Modi, on Thursday on Vajpayee’s passing. He described Vajpayee as “a visionary statesman with impeccable integrity and dedication, who will be remembered for his sagacity and exemplary selfless service to the people of India.”
“India and the world has lost a towering political figure, and Nepal a true friend and well-wisher. Nepal stands by the government and people of India at this moment of profound grief,” Oli said in his message.,” Prime Minister Oli mentioned in his message.
