Gyawali meets senior EU official in Brussels

They discussed diverse issues of Nepal-EU relations with a particular focus on development cooperation.
The two officials reviewed the status of the on-going cooperation between Nepal and the EU, and discussed ways and means of making development assistance more effective in the days to come, Nepali Embassy in Brussels said in statement.
During the meeting, Gyawali shared with Mimica the major priorities of the government of Nepal.
The EU Commissioner commended Nepal for its progress in recent years and stated that the EU would continue to support Nepal along the development priorities of the government of Nepal, the statement added.
Gyawali also had a meeting with Kris Peeters the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Employment, Economy, Consumer Affairs and in charge of Foreign Trade of the Kingdom of Belgium in Brussels.
The two Ministers discussed all aspects of Nepal-Belgium relations. They agreed on the need to work closely in order to strengthen the economic ties between the two countries. Their talks focused on promoting bilateral ties in tourism and people-to-people contacts.
The Head of Mission of Nepal to the EU Lok Bahadur Thapa, and Joint Secretary and Head of Europe-America Division at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Ghanshyam Bhandari accompanied Minister Gyawali in both the meetings.
