In a statement on Sunday, the umbrella body of Nepali media houses expressed tribute to Gyawali and condolences to the bereaved family including NMS member Binodraj Gyawali.
“The sad demise of Gyawali, who contributed to the growth of private sector media in Nepal, has caused an irreparable loss to Nepal’s media sector,” read the statement. The NMS will always remember the Gyawali’s contributions.
Hemraj Gyawali, died on Saturday in Kathmandu. Gyawali, 79, breathed his last at Gangalal Heart Centre in the Capital where doctors said he had had a “mild attack”. He is survived by his wife and three sons.
