In Dang, a construction worker from Sunsari district died when a house caught fire in Tulsipur Sub-Metropolitan City-12 on Friday night.
According to Area Police Office in Tulsipur, the fire destroyed the house belonging to Ram Prasad Paudel. It is suspected that a short-circuit caused triggered the fire.
The victim had been staying in the house on rent for the past few months. The deceased, believed to be in his mid-thirties, is yet to be identified, said police.
In Khotang, a fire destroyed two houses in Diktel Bazaar on Friday morning. The houses belonging to Ambika Budhathoki and Krishna Shrestha were destroyed while two other abutting houses were partially damaged in the inferno, police said.
Preliminary police investigation showed that properties worth around Rs 29 million were destroyed in the incident.
In Sunsari, properties worth about Rs 38.8 million were destroyed as a massive fire destroyed two houses in Itahari-6 on Wednesday. The fire broke out due to short-circuit, said police. A number of shops and offices operated in the houses were destroyed in the incident.
