“The bomb blast in Lalitpur, and arson attacks in Kanchanpur, Jajarkot, Baglung, Myagdi, Rupandehi, Kapilvastu, East Nawalparasi, Kaski and Nuwakot, among other places, have drawn serious attention of NHRC,” NHRC said in a statement on Monday.
The NHRC mentioned that it came to know of the death of one Singha Prasad Gurung, who was injured in an improvised device explosion on the premises of Ncell headquarters in Nakkhu, Lalitpur, this Friday night, and two other people suffered injuries in the blast.
Saying that violence never benefits anyone, the human rights watchdog urged the concerned parties to refrain from resorting to violence.
The NHRC also urged the government to protect health and property of general public by taking the human rights and security sensitiveness into consideration. The rights body also asked the government to book the perpetrators under law, provide compensation to the family of deceased, and make arrangements for the treatment of injured people.
