Two back-to-back tremors rock central Nepal

Two back-to-back tremors of magnitudes 5.2 and 4.3 rocked central Nepal early Wednesday morning. The tremors were felt in Kathmandu.

According to Nepal Seismological Centre, the epicentres of both the quakes were in Dhading district. The first tremor struck at 6:29 am and the second was felt 11 minutes later.

The seismological centre said that the tremors that struck on Wednesday were aftershocks of the April 2015 earthquake.

The phenomenon occurred a day before the fourth anniversary of the devastating quake on April 25, 2015 that claimed nearly 9,000 lives and injured more than 20,000 people.
