Home Minister Ram Bahadur Thapa on Thursday directed the district administration offices (DAOs) across the country to despatch, within a week, lists of companies and contractors involved in fraudulent practices while constructing public buildings, roads and bridges.
The Ministry of Home Affairs has sent a memo to this effect to all the DAOs seeking details of contractors and companies.
This decision follows a spate of complaints against poor and delayed construction of the infrastructures after winning the tender.
Minister Thapa sent this directive to all 77 chief district officers (CDOs) after holding talks with representatives from different ministries on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, the traffic police have increased their vigilance from Thursday on enforcing traffic rules and regulations following instructions from Minister Thapa.
Traffic rules prohibit three-wheeler tempos from ferrying people more than listed capacity.
The same rule would apply for microbuses starting from Sunday.
Traffic police would book taxi drivers plying without working meters and those drivers charging passengers more than the meter reading.
