Akbar who operates a restaurant in Labim Mall at Pulchowk, Lalitpur has been named by the accused in the case during interrogation by the probe team.
The probe team led by Joint-secretary at the Home Ministry Ishwor Poudel had been searching for Shah for the past three days.“Akbar had switched off his mobile phone for some days. But as soon as his phone was switched on, we tracked his location and arrested him,” said Poudel, adding that his name was being called by many accused in the case.
A family member of the late media entrepreneur Jamim Shah, who was killed in 201o, Akbar is believed to have been involved in the smuggling for a long time. The probe team is interrogating him to get more details in the case. The Poudel-led team also confirmed the arrest of Imtiyaaz aka Dabbu, another person named by different accused in their statements. Imtiyaaz was arrested from the area near Kalopul on Friday.
