4 dead, 25 hurt in separate road accidents

Two persons died when a passenger bus met with an accident in Manthali Municipality-1 of Ramechhap district on Sunday. Police have identified the deceased Om Karki of Okhaldhunga and Niraj Bhujel of Manthali-5 in Ramechhap. Twenty-five others were injured, some critically, in the incident.
According to police, the bus (Ba 4 Kha 4210) belonging to Araniko Transportation Comm-ittee, turned turtle while travelling uphill on a gravelled narrow road section. The vehicle was en route to Kathmandu from Ghorakhori of Okhaldhunga district.
Police suspect the bus driver might have taken the vehicle uphill after it suffered a brake fail. They have detained him for further investigation.
The injured have been taken to Tamakoshi Cooperative Hospital while 10 seriously injured have been referred to Kathmandu for further treatment.
Inspector Ravi Bhushan Yadav at the District Police Office, Ramechhap, said they have yet to identify the deceased.
In Sarlahi, 15-month-old Roshani Sah, the daughter of Phekan Sah, died when a tractor hit her at Kaudena Rural Municipality-5, police said. The victim died on the spot. Similarly, eight-year-old Sonali Mukhiya of Bramhapuri Municipality-3 died after being hit by a passenger bus on Saturday. The bus hit the victim while she was crossing the road. The drivers fled the scene in both the incidents, said police.
