SOLUKHUMBU: Two tonnes of solid wastes have been collected from the Mt Everest region under the Sagarmatha Cleaning Campaign. The collected wastes were taken to Kathmandu and Okhaldhunga for disposal, according to the Sagarmatha National Park. Park Pramod Bhattarai, the park’s chief, said the campaign was held from Lukla to Syangboche of the Khumbu region to mark the 12th International Sagarmatha Day. Khumbu Pasang Lhamu Rural municipality, Nepali Army, Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Department of Forest and Environment, the Park buffer zone and Sagarmatha Pollution Control Committee took part in the campaign that began on Nepali New Year 2076, he added.
