The Subisu CAN Info-Tech 2014 has been able to pull huge crowds, with the total number of visitors reaching 94,321 at the end of day two.
As many as 221 exhibitors are displaying ICT products and services at the exhibition being organised by the Computer Association of Nepal.
CAN General Secretary Amrit Kumar Pant said the expo has so far been fruitful for exhibitors as well as visitors. “As we are able to hold direct interaction with customers, the fair has been very helpful in terms of branding of new products and sales,” he said.
Like the previous years, the major crowd pullers this year are also the stalls featuring smartphones and laptops. Internet Service Providers (ISPs) are also attracting a notable number of visitors. Here is a list of products catching the customer’s eyes on the second day of the IT exhibition.
Dell XPS 12 Ultra Book and Neo Tablet
Neoteric Nepal, the authorised distributor of Dell products in Nepal, is showcasing the Dell XPS 12 tablet-cum-ultrabook at the fair. The device is powered by the 4th generation Intel Core i5/i7 processors and features a 14-inch LED touch-screen and full metal body. The device is priced between Rs 186,365 and Rs 218,000. Neoteric has also launched a tablet under its own “Neo” brand, which has been a crowd puller. The tablet starts at Rs 7,900. The company has also put on display smartphones and laptops from Nokia and HP.
Prestigeo Tablets
Sagar Group has showcased “multi-phones” and “multi-tabs” from European brand Prestigeo. COO Sangam Manandhar said the company has launched five models of “multi phones” — PAP 3350 DUO, PAP 3400 DUO, PAP 5044 DUO, PAP 5450 DUO and PAP 5500 DUO. Under “multi-tabs”, it has launched PMP 5101 C, PMP 3670B, PMP 7170B and PMP 7280. He said these models run the latest android OS. Prices for the phones start from Rs 10,700, while the tablets start at Rs 12,000. The company is also showcasing Kaspersky anti-virus, sewing machines, photo copy machines and printers and scanners from Brother.
Micromax Canvas Turbo
Pashupati Trade Link, the authorised distributor of Micromax, has put on display the latest smartphone from the Indian brand — the Canvas Turbo. Bhupal Chhetri, sales manager, said the Turbo is the first full-HD smartphone from Micromax, which comes with a full aluminium body. The Turbo features a 1.5 GHz processor, 2 GB RAM, Android 4.2 Jelly Bean OS, 13 MP rear and 5 MP front cameras and a 16 GB internal memory. It has been priced at 35,000. The is also offering various other models from the Micromax stable.
Sony Xperia Z1
The latest offering from the Japanese technology giant, the Sony Xperia Z1, has proved a huge crowd puller at the event. The waterproof and dustproof smartphone, which has raised the eyebrows globally with its enticing 20-7MP camera, runs Android Jelly Bean OS and is powered by a powerful 2.2 GHz Quad Core Snapdragon 800 processor. It comes with a captivating 5-inch full-HD screen with Sony’s Triluminous display technology. Subash Shrestha, sales and
marketing manager of Nepa Hima Trade Link, authorised distributor of Sony, said the Xperia Z1 has been priced at Rs 65,000. Besides, the company has also displayed cameras and LED TVs, among others, from the Sony stable.
Huawei Ascend P6
Call Mobility Pvt Ltd, the authorised distributor of Huawei smartphones, has launched 8 smartphones from the Chinese tech giant. Among them, the flagship Huawei Ascend P6 has been able to attract serious attention of the visitors. Claimed to the thinnest Smartphone in the world, the P6 comes with features like Dual-SIM support, 4.7-inch 720p display, 1.5GHz Quad Core processor, 8MP camera, 2GB of RAM and 8GB of on-board storage, among others.
